early sculpture
A beginning that continues to echo
Still was carved from Portland stone in 2003 during a residency at the Portland Stone & Quarry Trust.
The sculpture marks an early exploration of form held in tension — part figure, part fossil. Half-emerging, half-submerged, it reflects on protection, growth, and the quiet persistence of matter.
Still carries many of the concerns that thread through later work: imprint, emergence, and the dialogue between body and landscape.
